CAYTHORPE COURT / Sherwood Forest / End of the stay in London

In our multi-activity centre Caythorpe Court, both for a one week or two week stay, you can add an original note to your summer school experience. In the evening, after dinner, those who enrolled onto the football programme will participate in training sessions with English coaches. The football school programme will be supervised by Albert Vinyas, in charge of the Espanyol football school and teacher of the Catalunia Football Federation, one of the best in Europe for that which concerns U18 training. Players from the youth local football teams are invited to share this experience and we hope many of them will participate, concurring to create an international and inter-cultural environment. This programme aims to improve the participants' technical, tactical and physical skills (with different schedules according to their age), under the careful eyes of qualified English coaches supported also by coaches from other countries. Plus a chance to discover different training systems and, most of all, to practise English in a challenging context.

CAYTHORPE:

In beautiful rural Lincolnshire, not far from the famous Sherwood Forest and just few miles away from Grantham, this centre was inaugurated two years ago and offers a great number of extraordinary activities. Caythorpe Court is a great place where you can find all that is needed to spend a really unique holiday. In the 65 acres surrounding the old mansion there is space enough for all the necessary structures for all these fun activities. The teaching programme of the English course has been very carefully studied with particular care placed on the knowledge of the language needed to participate in the activities, which are an important part of the learning process. The basic principle is learning by doing and having fun and to study without even realizing it. Our holidays are very enjoyable and also very effective from the didactic point of view. Parents also know that an experience in a multi-activity centre helps to improve their kids socializing attitude, making them surer and more self confident and motivated and much more! The combination of all these aspects makes this programmes really special.

ACCOMODATION:

Caythorpe Court centre is 12 km away from Grantham and 30 from Lincoln. Rooms, all en-suite, are furnished with two bunk beds, a wardrobe and a capacious drawer. Teachers will stay in single rooms en-suite and will be offered coffee or tea set. Meals will all be served at the centre canteen. A bar, a shop and also a computer room with internet access are available, as well as several common rooms.

FREE TIME:

Loads of great facilities for outdoor activities are available, for example two regular football pitches and one of the most beautiful high ropes walks. There is also a fantastic artificial lake especially created for water sports and a completely refurbished sports hall. Many indoor activities are also available in the main building. English instructors and activity leaders will always stay with the students during every activity in a ratio of at least one to every twelve students.

EXCURSIONS:

For those choosing the two weeks stay, the programme includes two half day excursions in the afternoon to the Sherwood Forest or to Nottingham and to Lincoln and two full day excursions to Cambridge, including punting on the Thames, and to York, including the admission to JORVIK Viking Centre (if available), this is in addition to the final weekend in London.

- 18 or 36 hours English course;
- attendance certificate;
