This summer school is particularly suitable for students 16 years old and over with an excellent programme including a lot of recreational and cultural activities in a very international environment, with schoolmates coming from all over the world and immersed in the daily British lifestyle, hosted in carefully selected families. Manchester Academy of English offer a top quality English course to worldwide coming students (welcoming every year students form fifty different nationalities) and is a British Council recognized centre and member of English UK, you are guaranteed ambitious standards and high quality. The school is situated in a historic building in the very centre of Manchester, an elegant and cosmopolitan city famous for its shops, cultural life, fun, music and sport.
English with football with Manchester City:
The course is run at the state-of-the-art Platt Lane Complex, one of Manchester City FC’s training grounds and home of The Youth Academy for young Manchester City players, 2,5 km away from the city centre. Facilities include excellent indoor and outdoor football pitches, a gym and training rooms and also classrooms and spaces fitted for the English lessons which will take place in Platt Lane Complex too, from Monday to Friday, from 9.15 to 12.35 with a total of fifteen lessons per week held by Manchester Academy of English teachers.
Accommodation:
Accommodation is available to all students of 15 years old and over. Students stay at Manchester University’s Halls of residence on a full board basis. Standard bedrooms have a sink in the room and have shared bathroom facilities. All rooms have an option of internet access. Students of 18 years old and over can choose to stay in self-catering university accommodation with 4 bedrooms. Bedrooms are single with en-suite shower rooms and there is shared use of the student communal lounge and kitchen. A bedding pack (duvet cover; sheet; pillow case; towel) is included in the price. Kitchen and cooking utensils are not provided. Both accommodation types are situated on the main bus route into the city centre.
Free Time:
Manchester can offer a lot both for recreational and cultural activities, therefore many afternoons and evenings will be spent in the city, on top of the activities already included in the recreational and sport programme. Moreover theatres, cinemas and discos are another chance to meet friends. Activities are shared with students from all over the world enabling our kids to practice their own language skills in a multicultural environment. A Sport Leader group leader will travel with our students and will be available during the whole stay in order to make the integration easier, to help in the organization of afternoon and evening activities and to grant our supervision on the programme.
The package includes:
- flights both ways and airport taxes;
- 14 nights accommodation either in Halls of Residence on a full board basis or student residence (lunches provided Monday to Friday as part of the course, self-catering at weekends);
- 15 lessons of English language tuition per week in mixed nationality classes.;
